Total U.S. nuclear plant availability slipped early March 20 to 86.69%, down from 86.81% on March 19 but still much higher than the 82.91% reported on the same day last year.
U.S. output slipped despite the return of Exelon Corp.'s Nine Mile Point 1 in New York. The plant was warming up at 3% early March 20, after being taken offline on March 18 for undisclosed reasons.
On the other hand, Entergy Corp.'s River Bend 1 in Louisiana saw production fall from 90% on March 19 to 77% early March 20.
As of early March 20, a total of 12 units across the U.S. are offline.
