SECOM fiscal Q3 profit climbs 5.2% YOY

Secom Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥81.97 per share, a gain of 5.2% from ¥77.93 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥17.89 billion, a gain of 5.2% from ¥17.01 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 8.7% from 8.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew on an annual basis to ¥206.28 billion from ¥202.33 billion, and total operating expenses rose from the prior-year period to ¥177.08 billion from ¥174.28 billion.

Reported net income grew 7.1% year over year to ¥18.51 billion, or ¥84.81 per share, from ¥17.28 billion, or ¥79.16 per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
