Loblaw to introduce a new online grocery service in Toronto

Canadian food retailer Loblaw Companies Ltd on Feb. 26 said it will launch a new PC Express service with Metrolinx in five train stations in the Greater Toronto Area.

This new service will allow customers to order groceries from train stations and collect orders the next day in PC Express locations close to the stations in Bronte, Oakville, Rouge Hill, Whitby and Clarkson. The groceries will be supplied by nearby Fortinos or Loblaws stores and will be available for collection from a specialty delivery truck, lockers or an enclosed kiosk.

The company said the service is the next step for its online and in-store pickup service in more than 200 stores in Canada.

According to the release, the service will begin this spring but there are plans for expansion in phases all over the region.
