Report: Iliad wants court to void Fastweb/Wind Tre 5G deal

Iliad SA asked an Italian court to nullify a 5G network-sharing deal between Fastweb SpA and Wind Tre SpA, Reuters reported, citing a document and a source.

The court will hold its first hearing on the matter Feb. 12 and will rule in merit Oct. 7 whether to allow Iliad to participate in the agreement.

Fastweb and Wind Tre agreed in June 2019 to bring their assets together for their 5G rollout, which targets coverage of about 90% of the Italian population by 2026.

French telecom operator Iliad, which launched its mobile business in Italy in May 2018, was the only telco not to have secured a 5G network-sharing deal, according to Reuters.

Swisscom AG owns Fastweb.
