Rambus to buy Silicon IP, secure protocols business of Verimatrix for $65M

Semiconductor provider Rambus Inc. agreed to buy the Silicon intellectual property and secure protocols business of Verimatrix Société anonyme, formerly Inside Secure, for $65 million in cash.

This acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions, including certain regulatory approvals, though it is expected to close this year.

The deal will combine the companies' embedded security teams and products to create a portfolio of security IP and chip provisioning services, Rambus said in a Sept. 11 news release.
