Twitter wooing Chinese companies to boost ad business

Twitter Inc. is looking at China to boost its advertising business.

Maya Hari, Twitter's managing director for its Asia-Pacific operations, said the company is not looking for ways to break into China, but is building its advertising business by working with Chinese companies looking to target global markets.

The Chinese government blocked Twitter, as well as Facebook Inc., in 2009 following riots in the western region of Xinjiang.
