Texas community bank association to name new CEO

The Independent Bankers Association of Texas will likely announce a new president and CEO in September, the Dallas Business Journal reported March 8.

Current President and CEO Chris Williston will retire on Dec. 31, the publication said. He will stay on through the end of 2018 and will work as a consultant of the association for about six months. The final decision on a new candidate is set to be completed in June, the report added.

According to a post in the association's website, Williston planned to retire at the end of 2017, but delayed it "to maintain momentum and avoid disruption" as Congress works to revise provisions in the Dodd-Frank Act.
