Quest Diagnostics completes Provant Health acquisition

Quest Diagnostics Inc. completed its previously announced acquisition of health and wellness services company Provant Health Solutions Inc.

The Secaucus, N.J.-based diagnostics company acquired Provant Health for $27 million through its unit Summit Health Inc. The unit's bid won in an auction process conducted after East Greenwich, R.I.-based Provant Health filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 27. Under the terms of the deal, Provant Health will continue to provide its services to meet customer obligations for the fourth quarter of 2018.

"This acquisition is wholly consistent with our accelerate growth strategy, and our goal to empower the health and wellness initiatives of employers and other organizations managing population health," Quest Diagnostics Chairman, President and CEO Steve Rusckowski said in a news release.
