Microsoft, Qualcomm secure distribution of connected PCs globally

Microsoft Corp. and Qualcomm Inc. unit Qualcomm Technologies Inc. secured distribution for the new Microsoft Always Connected Windows 10 PCs powered by the Snapdragon Mobile PC Platform at various retailers and mobile operators globally.

The devices will be connected to 4G/LTE networks from Telstra Corp. Ltd. in Australia, China Mobile Communications Corp. in China, Transatel SA in France, Deutsche Telekom AG in Germany, Cubic Corp. in Ireland, Telefónica SA in Spain, Swisscom AG in Switzerland, and T-Mobile US Inc. and AT&T Inc. in the U.S.

China Telecom Corp. Ltd., Italy's TIM, EE Ltd. from the U.K., and Sprint and Verizon Communications Inc. from the U.S. have also joined the list, according to a Feb. 21 news release. The devices will be manufactured by ASUSTeK Computer Inc., Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. and Lenovo Group Ltd.

Starting this quarter, the devices will be available at Amazon.com Inc. stores and Microsoft Stores in the U.S.; Microsoft Stores in Australia and the U.K.; JD.com Inc. in China; Unieuro in Italy; Boulanger and Fnac in France; Asus Stores; and BT Shop, John Lewis and Dixons Carphone Plc's PC World in the U.K.
