BMW seeks additional partners for mobility services venture

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG is seeking additional partners for its mobility services joint venture with Daimler AG, Reuters reported Oct. 20, citing an interview by the German-language newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung with BMW CEO Oliver Zipse.

"We would like to welcome additional partners in this area, which has great future potential," Zipse reportedly said, adding that customers want more choices across different brands.

He told the newspaper that future partners will have the option to either collaborate or make financial investments.

BMW and Daimler in March 2018 agreed to combine their mobility services units, which include car-sharing services Car2Go and DriveNow, in a bid to expand their existing on-demand mobility offerings.
