denied marketrumors that it is in talks with Scotiabank Chile to sell its banking subsidiary,Banco Security SA, aGrupo Security spokesperson said in an emailed statement, confirming an April13 report in Diario Financiero.
"No,there are no talks to sell the bank," the spokesperson wrote.
Rumorsof Banco Security's possible sale pushed Security's stock price up 6% on theSantiago stock exchange on April 13, the report said. However, both banksreportedly denied the rumors.
Scotiabank'sparent, Canada's Bank of NovaScotia, did not immediately respond to S&P Global MarketIntelligence's request for comment.
