Navient board authorizes $1B buyback program

Navient Corp.'s board authorized a new share repurchase program, allowing the company to buy back up to $1 billion of its outstanding common stock.

The authorization, effective Oct. 23, is in addition to the approximately $77 million unused authorization approved by the board in September 2018. The new program does not have an expiration date.
