Gogo to provide in-flight connectivity to Embraer's business jets

Gogo Inc. will provide its Gogo AVANCE L5 in-flight connectivity technology for airplane-maker Embraer's Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 business jets.

The Gogo AVANCE L5 equipment package will incorporate dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi service and various other features. Gogo AVANCE L5 connects to the Gogo Biz 4G network, which is built on Gogo's existing ground network of more than 250 towers and fiber backhaul.

Embraer is in the process of certifying the Gogo AVANCE L5 system and plans to deliver the first production aircraft in the first quarter of 2018, according to an Oct. 10 news release.

"With Gogo's Text & Talk and Gogo Vision, personal communication and inflight entertainment will be as seamless as if customers were at home or in the office," Luciano Castro, vice president of programs for Embraer Executive Jets, said.
