Tyson Foods Inc. has sold its Golden Island Jerky Co. Inc. business to Link Snacks Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
The deal closed Dec. 30, 2019.
Golden Island, which produces beef, pork and turkey snacks, was acquired by Tyson in 2014 as part of its $6.2 billion acquisition of Hillshire Brands Co.
Link Snacks will integrate Golden Island operations at its Alpena, S.D., production plant to further develop the brand, according to FoodBev Media.
The Wisconsin-based company, known for its Jack Link's Beef Jerky products, may also hire an unspecified number of employees at its production plant, the report added.
