Polish lender Alior Bank SA and Telekom Romania will start offering joint services in Romania in October, Romania Insider reported Oct. 5.
An official presentation of the service is reportedly scheduled for Oct. 18, with Alior CEO Michal Chyczewski and Telekom Romania CEO Miroslav Majoros both expected to attend the event.
Telekom Romania and Alior signed an agreement in 2015 to offer joint services in Romania. Under the agreement, the Romanian telecom operator is set to act as an intermediary offering financial products provided by Alior Bank to its clients, Romania Insider said. Alior registered a Romanian branch in February 2016 as part of its project with Telekom Romania.
Alior and Telekom Romania's parent, Deutsche Telekom, offer a similar service in Poland, which was launched in May 2014, the news report noted.
