Fortescue accepts US$446.9M in 2022 notes buyback

Fortescue Metals Group Ltd. said March 8 that its FMG Resources (August 2006) Pty. Ltd. unit accepted for purchase US$446.9 million aggregate principal amount of 2022 notes following the close of the early participation date of the previously announced offer.

The company offered to purchase up to US$1.40 billion in aggregate principal of its 9.750% senior secured notes due 2022, which will be funded by a US$1.40 billion term loan facility secured in February and an offering of US$500 million of 5.125% senior unsecured notes due 2023.

The offer is set to expire March 21.
