EU to reboot nonbank financing plans in wake of Brexit

The EU will reinvigorate its plan for a capital markets union as the U.K. prepares to leave the bloc, Reuters reported June 8, citing European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis.

A capital markets union is designed to help companies raise money from nonbank sources such as bond and equity markets.

"As we face the departure of the largest EU financial center, we committed to stepping up our efforts to further strengthen and integrate the EU capital markets," Dombrovskis said.
