SECOM fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

Secom Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to ¥82.76 per share, compared with ¥83.24 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥18.06 billion, compared with ¥18.17 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 8.4% from 8.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to ¥216.21 billion from ¥213.13 billion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥186.84 billion from ¥183.11 billion.

Reported net income grew from the prior-year period to ¥20.59 billion, or ¥94.31 per share, from ¥20.05 billion, or ¥91.84 per share.

As of Aug. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥109.45.
