C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. said its normalized net income for the second quarter amounted to 96 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 86 cents per share.
EPS rose 16.8% year over year from 82 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $139.5 million, an increase of 15.0% from $121.3 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 3.9% from 3.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose year over year to $3.55 billion from $3.50 billion, and total operating expenses totaled $3.32 billion, compared with $3.30 billion in the year-earlier period.
Reported net income grew 15.7% from the prior-year period to $136.9 million, or 94 cents per share, from $118.4 million, or 80 cents per share.
