Maple Leaf Foods recalls wieners due to undeclared milk

Canadian packaged meat producer Maple Leaf Foods Inc. has issued a recall of Country Naturals Wieners under the Schneiders brand due to the presence of an undeclared allergen, according to an Oct. 17 notice from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, or CFIA.

The products contain milk, which could pose a serious or life-threatening reaction to people with an allergy to dairy, the agency said.

The recall affects 375-gram packages of Country Naturals Wieners with a best-before label of Oct. 15 and UPC code 0-62000-10879-7. The affected product was distributed to Canadian provinces including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan.

The CFIA said the recall was prompted by a consumer complaint.
