Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago taps new managing director

Stephen Bagnarol has been named managing director of Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago Ltd. and senior vice president and head of the Caribbean South and East region, effective Nov. 1.

The executive, who joined Scotiabank in 1998, has been serving as senior vice president of wholesale banking in Peru since 2011.

He will replace Anya Schnoor, the bank's outgoing managing director who was appointed to a new role as executive vice president for retail payments, deposits and unsecured lending for Canadian banking in September.
