2 Con Edison utilities to launch RFP for up to 440 MW of energy supply

Consolidated Edison Co. of New York Inc. and Orange and Rockland Utilities Inc. plan to seek proposals for up to 440 MW of around-the-clock energy supply in zone J and zone G of the New York ISO.

The Consolidated Edison Inc. utilities will seek offers for up to 400 MW of energy delivered to zone J and up to 40 MW of energy delivered to zone G, for three one-year terms, beginning January 2019, 2020 and 2021, the utilities said in an emailed statement.

The request for quote procurement period will open on March 13 at 9 a.m. ET and close at 5 p.m. ET. The New York-based utilities will conduct the request for proposals on May 8 via e-sourcing portal.

CECONY serves about 3.4 million electric customers customers in all of New York City, except a part of Queens, and most of Westchester County. O&R serves about 300,000 electric customers in southeastern New York State.
