Mannatech swings to profit in Q2

Mannatech Inc. said its second-quarter normalized net income came to 68 cents per share, compared with a loss of 26 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $1.9 million, compared with a loss of $703,750 in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 4.0% from negative 1.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined year over year to $47.7 million from $48.8 million, and total operating expenses declined 8.7% year over year to $44.7 million from $48.9 million.

Reported net income totaled $1.8 million, or 65 cents per share, compared to a loss of $1.3 million, or a loss of 49 cents per share, in the prior-year period.
