Nestlé to cut 380 jobs in Germany

Nestlé SA will cut 380 jobs in Germany as the company plans to shut down multiple plants, Reuters reported Dec. 17.

The food giant's move is reportedly seen a reaction to reduced demand. Also, the company is shifting some production to another place.

The company will close a laboratory in Weiding, Bavaria, where 85 positions will be cut. The company will also cut 106 jobs at its baby nutrition plant in Biessenhofen, Bavaria. An additional 95 jobs are going at Nestlé's Maggi plant in Luedinghausen, North Rhine-Westphalia.

In June, Nestlé reportedly decided to close its Ludwigsburg plant that employs around 100 workers.

The company's decision follows a deal with German unions on packages given to employees losing their jobs, the report added.
