ChrysCapital closes 8th private equity fund

ChrysCapital closed its eighth private equity fund beyond its hard cap of US$850 million, Livemint reported Jan. 8, citing a senior company executive.

ChrysCapital VIII LLC was significantly oversubscribed, according to Kunal Shroff, the co-founder and managing partner of the India-focused private equity firm.

ChrysCapital received significant demand from new investors, which include sovereign wealth funds, large public pension funds, major insurance companies and global funds of funds, among other sponsors. Shroff did not reveal investor details.

The fresh capital will enable the firm to participate in larger investment deals. It aims to continue supporting financial services, healthcare, business services and consumer companies, with the flexibility to consider investments in the manufacturing and digital markets, among others, the report noted.
