KRBL fiscal Q2 profit climbs 17.7% YOY

KRBL Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was 2.80 Indian rupees per share, an increase of 18.2% from 2.37 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 658.1 million rupees, an increase of 17.7% from 559.4 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 9.4% from 8.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 6.3% year over year to 7.00 billion rupees from 6.58 billion rupees, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to 5.79 billion rupees from 5.64 billion rupees.

Reported net income grew 8.1% year over year to 806.4 million rupees, or 3.43 rupees per share, from 746.2 million rupees, or 3.16 rupees per share.

As of Oct. 20, US$1 was equivalent to 61.26 Indian rupees.
