Argentine central bank to launch austerity plan amid lower budget

Banco Central de la República Argentina will implement an austerity plan that includes the reduction of the salary of drivers and a hiring freeze for the replacement of exiting staff, La Nacion reported.

In addition, the central bank also hopes to gain more savings by introducing banknotes in higher denominations.

According to the central bank, the move is in light of an allocated budget that is 30% lower than in 2017.
