Sunday Co. Ltd. fiscal Q1 profit climbs YOY

Sunday Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended May 31 was ¥27.44 per share, an increase from ¥11.32 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥295.6 million, a gain from ¥121.9 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 2.3% from 1.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 7.8% on an annual basis to ¥12.75 billion from ¥11.82 billion, and total operating expenses increased 5.7% year over year to ¥12.29 billion from ¥11.63 billion.

Reported net income rose year over year to ¥286.0 million, or ¥26.55 per share, from ¥119.0 million, or ¥11.06 per share.
