Japan revises up jump in December 2017 industrial production

Japan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index rose 2.9% month over month in December 2017, final data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed. This was higher than the ministry's preliminary report of a 2.7% increase.

Shipments increased 2.9% month over month, while inventories and the inventory ratio fell 0.3% and 0.5%, respectively.
