Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. reported a 22% year-over-year drop in total vehicle sales for May.
The automaker sold 134,641 units during the month, compared with 172,512 units sold in May 2018.
The Indian subsidiary of Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp. sold 125,552 units in its home market, down 23.1% year over year.
Total exports for the month also dropped 2.4% year over year to 9,089 units.
Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 121,018 passenger vehicles domestically, down 25.1% year over year.
In April, the company reported a 17.2% year-over-year decline in its global sales.
