John Lewis of Hungerford fiscal H2 profit climbs YOY

John Lewis of Hungerford PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended Aug. 31, 2015, amounted to £31,360, a rise from £6,090 in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

Total revenue increased 10.6% year over year to £4.3 million from £3.8 million, and total operating expenses grew 9.5% year over year to £4.2 million from £3.8 million.

Reported net income totaled £74,700, or 0 pence per share, compared to a loss of £18,980, or a loss of 0 pence per share, in the prior-year period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled £96,140, compared with income of £37,340 in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue rose 5.2% year over year to £7.8 million from £7.4 million, and total operating expenses grew 7.9% year over year to £7.9 million from £7.3 million.

The company said reported net income totaled a loss of £130,720, or a loss of 0 pence per share, in the full year, compared with income of £40,600, or 0 pence per share, the prior year.
