Hotels.com and Trivago owner Expedia Group Inc. on Sept. 16 said it signed a new, multiyear agreement with United Airlines Holdings Inc. to expand their partnership.
Under the agreement, Expedia will continue its leisure distribution with the airline while United Airlines will expand its relationship with Expedia Partner Solutions and Expedia's corporate travel business Egencia.
The companies also plan to explore cooperation in other areas.
The move ends a standoff between the two companies that started in February, when Expedia filed a lawsuit against United Airlines after the latter allegedly threatened to withhold fare data from Expedia-owned sites amid a contract dispute. United Airlines said the travel services company has "refused to engage in constructive discussions" and disclosed that it "expects" to pull fares for trips set Oct. 1 or later, according to CNBC.
