Macquarie Capital (USA) Inc. has hired Marc Berman, the former head of insurance investment banking at RBC Capital Markets LLC.
Berman joined Macquarie as a senior adviser. He has been registered with Macquarie since April and has not been registered with RBC since October 2016, according to records filed with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Before RBC, Berman was with J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, FINRA records show.
RBC Capital Markets' financial institutions group has experienced a number of personnel changes of late. Co-head of FIG Jerry Wiant left the company and is expected to join Lazard Ltd, while asset manager investment banker Jeffrey Haller is headed to Goldman. Earlier this year, RBC announced the hire of Venkat Badinehal, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc.'s former head of financial institutions group for the Americas.
