Kingfisher to discontinue harmful chemical in gardening products

Home improvement retailer Kingfisher PLC on March 13 said it will stop selling products with metaldehyde across its 1,200 stores. The company will replace these products with environmentally friendly alternatives.

The move is part of the U.K. retailer's plan to remove all harmful chemicals from its products.

On Jan. 23, Kingfisher said it would phase out three chemicals from its line of home improvement products by 2025.
