Sydbank names chairman, vice chairman

The board of Sydbank A/S has elected Lars Mikkelgaard-Jensen and Jacob Christian Nielsen to be chairman and vice chairman, respectively.

Janne Moltke-Leth, Susanne Schou, Carsten Andersen, Kim Holmer, Jarl Oxlund and Jørn Krogh Sørensen comprise the rest of the current board of directors, according to a Sept. 17 statement.

Chairman Torben Nielsen, Vice Chairman John Lesbo and directors Jørgen Høholt and Frank Møller Nielsen resigned due to a disagreement regarding governance and the Danish lender's future strategy, the bank said.

The bank also said it intends to add more members to its board in order for it "to possess the relevant expertise in future." In light of this, Sydbank's shareholders' committee will be convened "as soon as possible."
