Statkraft makes further inroads into German EV charging market

Oslo, Norway-based Statkraft AS has acquired German electric vehicle charging company E-Wald GmbH for undisclosed terms.

Bavaria-based E-Wald operates approximately 300 charging stations and offers EV leasing services to corporations and municipalities with about 7,000 customers, according to an Aug. 23 news release.

"E-Wald is well placed for growth within fast charging in Germany and we look forward to [building] the company further and [supporting] its ambitious growth strategy," said Bjørn Holsen, Statkraft senior vice president for new business.

In 2018, Statkraft became the majority shareholder of eeMobility GmbH, another German EV charging company.
