PNC Financial Services appoints 3 new directors

Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group Inc. appointed Joseph Alvarado, Richard Harshman and Toni Townes-Whitley to its board, bringing the number of directors to 14.

Alvarado is the former chairman, president and CEO of Commercial Metals Co., while Harshman is the current chairman and former president and CEO of Allegheny Technologies Inc. Townes-Whitley is president for U.S. regulated industries at Microsoft.

The three were also appointed as directors of PNC Bank NA, a subsidiary of PNC Financial Services.
