Pacific Life-backed Swell Investing launches ESG portfolio

Swell Investing LLC has launched an investment portfolio product, the Swell Impact 400, that tracks 400 public companies with operations and business models that meet the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Swell called the product, which requires a minimum investment of $50, an accessible way for retail investors to engage in impact investing, a method of investment selection that focuses on environmental, social and governance issues.

The companies must derive their revenue from one or more of the U.N.'s 17 goals and must also have at least one woman or minority on its board or executive team, Swell said.

Swell is an investment adviser incubated by Pacific Life Insurance Co.
