Mitsubishi Research Institute Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was a loss of ¥25.95 per share, compared with a loss of ¥13.89 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥426.3 million, compared with a loss of ¥228.1 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin declined to negative 3.2% from negative 1.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell on an annual basis to ¥13.43 billion from ¥13.97 billion, and total operating expenses totaled ¥14.18 billion, compared with ¥14.29 billion in the year-earlier period.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥593.0 million, or a loss of ¥36.11 per share, compared to a loss of ¥472.0 million, or a loss of ¥28.74 per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of Feb. 5, US$1 was equivalent to ¥117.16.
