Plenus fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Plenus Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 came to ¥25.10 per share, a decrease of 20.4% from ¥31.52 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥962.3 million, a decline of 20.3% from ¥1.21 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 2.5% from 3.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue came to ¥37.84 billion, compared with ¥37.60 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥36.47 billion from ¥35.65 billion.

Reported net income declined 23.6% year over year to ¥867.9 million, or ¥22.64 per share, from ¥1.14 billion, or ¥29.67 per share.

As of Oct. 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.90.
