Wells Fargo & Co. named Tracy Kerrins chief information officer of enterprise functions technology, effective Oct. 21.

Kerrins was previously Antares Capital Corp.'s chief operations and technology officer.

New York-based CIT Group Inc. hired David Bagatelle as a managing director to lead relationship commercial banking activity in the eastern region.

Bagatelle was most recently with Montebello, N.Y.-based Sterling National Bank, where he was executive vice president and president of New York metro markets.

Bridgeport, Conn.-based People's United Bank NA named Patrick Lee managing director and head of lender finance.

Lee will lead the bank's newly created lender finance team. He joined People United's asset-based lending group in 2016.

Kevin Bass, chief credit officer of South Plains Financial Inc., resigned Sept. 16 to become CEO of a Texas-based energy company.

The Lubbock, Texas-based bank named Robert Kotarski interim chief credit officer, effective immediately. Kotarski was previously the market president of El Paso, Texas, for South Plains Financial unit City Bank.

Birmingham, Ala.-based ServisFirst Bank hired five bankers in its various locations.

The bank hired Kurt Sequer, Steve Humphreys and Brian Michel as senior vice presidents of commercial banking to be based in Charleston, S.C. It also hired Christy Chumney as assistant relationship manager, also based in Charleston, and Marcus Moody as vice president and commercial banker to be based in Naples, Fla.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Truxton Trust Co. hired D. Mitch Van Zelfden as a portfolio manager.

Van Zelfden was previously an equity research associate at Stifel Nicolaus & Co. Inc.

Financial services

SS&C Technologies Holdings Inc. named Craig Schachter managing director and head of relationship management for DST Financial Services, Americas.

Schachter was previously Finastra Group Holdings Ltd.'s global head of financial technology ecosystem.

WEX Inc. elected Stephen Smith as a class III director, with his term expiring at the 2020 annual shareholders' meeting.

Smith is president and CEO of privately held retail company L.L.Bean Inc.
