Lloyd's appoints 3 regional directors

Lloyd's of London is restructuring the top of its global team and has appointed 3 regional directors, effective Jan. 1, 2019, Insurance Insider reported.

Iain Ferguson was named regional director for Asia Pacific — the combined Greater China and existing Asia Pacific regions — according to the report. He will still be COO for Lloyd's Japan.

Hank Watkins was reportedly appointed regional director for the Americas. He will continue as country manager for North America and also oversee Latin America.

Insurance Insider said a regional director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa will be announced shortly.

The three regional directors will report temporarily to COO Shirine Khoury-Haq, but she will depart from the company in the first half of 2019.

Additionally, Linmao Li was reportedly named country manager of China, effective in 2019. Li will replace Eric Gao, who is set to retire by the year's end.

Lloyd's will form a regional executive committee during the first quarter of 2019 that will work with the executive committee to develop the international network's operating model.
