TA Enterprise fiscal Q2 profit climbs 60.4% YOY

TA Enterprise Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended July 31 came to 2 Malaysian sen per share, an increase of 60.5% from 1 sen per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 27.6 million ringgits, an increase of 60.4% from 17.2 million ringgits in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 9.9% from 8.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 36.2% on an annual basis to 279.7 million ringgits from 205.4 million ringgits, and total operating expenses grew 38.0% year over year to 223.5 million ringgits from 161.9 million ringgits.

Reported net income increased 27.3% from the prior-year period to 40.6 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share, from 31.9 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share.

As of Sept. 24, US$1 was equivalent to 3.24 ringgits.
