Edenville to relinquish exploration license at Muze in Rukwa coalfield

Edenville Energy PLC decided to relinquish exploration license PL6098/2009 at the Muze area, part of its Rukwa Coalfield in Tanzania, which will result in annual savings of about US$30,000.

According to an Aug. 14 release, geological analysis determined that all likely economic coal occurrences in Muze are within the company's primary mining licenses, which lie about two kilometers south of PL6098/2009 and cover the Namwele and Mkomolo areas.

It expects the upgrade of the prescreening plant at its Rukwa coal project to be completed by the end of September, allowing increased throughput and production.

The company said it is now in advanced negotiations for several longer-term contracts for coal supply to customers.
