The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange barred Orient Securities Corp. from all securities purchases and proprietary trading on the equity market, Viet Nam News reported Dec. 18, after Vietnam's State Securities Commission placed the broker on its under-special-control list.

For 60 days following the suspension, Orient Securities can only sell its existing assets, the report said.

The SSC placed the company on its under-special-control list for the period between Oct. 16, 2019, and Feb. 15, 2019, after finding that it did not meet certain requirements as per the country's securities law.
