Central Azucarera Chucarapi Pampa Blanca SA said its normalized net income for the second quarter came to a loss of 1.4 million soles, compared with a loss of 846,250 soles in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
The normalized profit margin fell to negative 279.6% from negative 51.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined 68.4% on an annual basis to 516,000 soles from 1.6 million soles, and total operating expenses fell on an annual basis to 2.8 million soles from 2.9 million soles.
Reported net income came to a loss of 2.3 million soles, or a loss of 99 céntimos per share, compared to a loss of 1.4 million soles in the year-earlier period.
As of Aug. 1, US$1 was equivalent to 3.35 soles.
