Kyocera Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was ¥56.36 per share, a decrease of 24.9% from ¥75.07 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥20.68 billion, a decrease of 24.9% from ¥27.54 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 6.2% from 7.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell year over year to ¥370.45 billion from ¥387.36 billion, and total operating expenses came to ¥352.24 billion, compared with ¥351.89 billion in the prior-year period.
Reported net income decreased 71.3% on an annual basis to ¥8.71 billion, or ¥23.75 per share, from ¥30.32 billion, or ¥82.65 per share.
As of Feb. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥114.87.
