Abiomed fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

Abiomed Inc. said its GAAP net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 amounted to $1.93 per share, a decrease from $1.95 per share in the year-earlier period.

GAAP net income totaled $88.9 million, a decline from $90.1 million in the prior-year period.

The Danvers, Mass.-based medical-device maker's revenue climbed 15.4% on an annual basis to $207.7 million from $180.0 million.

Abiomed expects total revenue for the fiscal year 2020 to be in the range of $885 million to $925 million, an increase of 15% to 20% over the prior year.
