WCP Resources Ltd. kicked off second phase of a drill campaign at its Piedmont lithium project in North Carolina, it said May 31.
The program comprises more than 9,400 meters and about 90 holes, and will systematically explore and define mineralization along the four high-grade corridors identified on the property during the maiden drill program.
The holes are designed at 80 meter to 100 meter spacing laterally and 40 meter spacing down dip. Meanwhile, areas with more significant mineralization may be drilled on a tighter spacing and tested to greater depths.
WCP expects to complete the drilling by the third quarter.
The results of this phase, together with the first phase and historical data, will help the company to understand the lithium bearing geology for the project and delineate a maiden lithium resource estimate.
The company will then undertake a scoping study and other technical studies on the Piedmont project.
