Gazprom Q2 profit falls YOY

PJSC Gazprom said its second-quarter normalized net income was 8.21 Russian rubles per share, a decrease of 13.2% from 9.45 rubles per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 188.72 billion rubles, a decline of 13.2% from 217.39 billion rubles in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 14.2% from 17.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose year over year to 1.327 trillion rubles from 1.265 trillion rubles, and total operating expenses grew 16.8% from the prior-year period to 1.180 trillion rubles from 1.010 trillion rubles.

Reported net income fell 16.7% year over year to 244.85 billion rubles, or 10.65 rubles per share, from 293.79 billion rubles, or 12.77 rubles per share.

As of Aug. 30, US$1 was equivalent to 65.22 Russian rubles.
